My name is Matthew O'Dea, I go by the producer name Oatts.

I officially started my music production journey when I enrolled to study at SAE University College at the end of 2022, but music has been my passion since a young age, as I have over 15 years of experience playing acoustic and electric guitar and I have had many years of expereince as a singer throughout my childhood and teenage years.

Throughout my studies, I have created a diverse range of music; from trance and lofi, to punk rock and metal, to orchestral and ambient scores for video games and short films. I have used my time when producing so far to experiment, make mistakes and learn from them.

What I am most passionate about in the music production process is recording and mixing for fellow musicians, solo or band. I may not be the creator of the songs in these cases, but I love being able to give my all to elevate music to the next level through the use of audio engineering techniques to get the best sound out of a recording, and then being able to work digitally in a DAW or work with analog gear such as a mixing desk to bring out the best sound possible.

Now that I am nearing completion of my bachelor degree, I am seeking hands-on experience so I can continue to dive further into the industry.
